This ninth Iso Grifo built, is one of the few Iso Grifos that does not have the characteristic vent on top of the left rear fender; nor does it have the exhaust vents in the fuel-filler lid on top of the right rear fender. These vents were present on the A3/L prototype, but were deleted from the preliminary handful of Iso Grifos made after that first prototype. These vents allow air to flow in and over the inboard-disc brakes, and then out, to cool the rear brakes and improve under-car aerodynamics. This is a design feature that makes Iso Grifo No.009 rare and special among Iso Grifos. The owners of Iso Grifo No.009 commissioned a no-expense-spared restoration, beginning in 2010 and finishing in 2012, just in time to make it to the Iso GT 50th -anniversary celebration at The Quail, A Motor Sports Gathering in Carmel, California, August, 2012 where they were rewarded with the Iso Class First Place trophy.

The bodies of 1960's Italian cars were subject to rust, and Grifo No.009 was no exception. It was taken to a top-award-winning California shop, where it was completely disassembled and rebuilt from the ground up, with every component either repaired properly or replaced. The body had severe rust, so the rear clip and the front clip were replaced with new ones fabricated in Italy. A new trunk-lid skin and rear valence were fabricated by the restoration shop, and the front and rear bumpers were replaced with new ones. All other rust was completely removed with the goal of building an Iso Grifo that is better than new. The interior is upholstered with the finest-quality leather, and the beautiful red paint is Russo Fuco, a rare color.
