This one-off Fiat 8V, bodied by Ghia, is exquisite in all respects. A designer`s masterpiece, unique detailing and eloquent lines are blended seamlessly with the light and responsive two liter V8 engine. This is one of 114 Fiat 8Vs made.
Regarded as one of Ghia`s most fluid and sexiest bodies, this in the only 8V by Ghia outside the so called `Supersonic` chain. Stunning details in the chrome stripping, gauges, door handles and window handles, and gear shift knob, are unique to this car.
The car is cosmetically and mechanically a complete and fresh restoration. Body and paint work completed by Steve Beckmann in Southern California, mechanical components restored by Tony Nicosia, while the owner, an Italian car enthusiast, oversaw the assembly and disassembly. The car has been restored to original specifications with the correct equipment throughout; Carello headlights, Marchal driving lights, and mechanical fuel pump. The motor and gearbox are both completely rebuilt and are period correct. The fit and finish is of the highest quality inside and out.
This car was invited and shown at Pebble Beach in 2001, along side several other Fiat 8Vs.
A buyer would be hard pressed to find a comparable car in uniqueness, condition and historical importance for less in today`s marketplace. This car needs nothing. It is an ideal candidate for the mille miglia, the California Mille, the Colorado Grand, or shows such as the Concourse Italiano in Monterey this August.
This is a car which will appeal to Italian car collectors and enthusiasts seeking to diversify their collections of Ferraris and Alfas.
